In 2012, Rajpal Yadav produced a movie named "Ata Pata Laapata'. For the promotion of this movie he came to Chandigarh along with an assistant. He wanted to talk to the media at Chandigarh, Ludhiana and Amritsar in a single day. They had no planning and no marketing support et all. This was a challenging task and we had to manage everything in a day; from booking the venue and transport to manage the media at all the places.
I remember, my BlackBerry batteries were completely drained while leaving Ludhiana. Moreover, In Amritsar, renovation and construction work was in full swing around the Golden Temple, blocking the narrow streets. It was really tough to make our way to the Swarn Mandir. Thanks to my friends, Dheeraj Bagga, media marketing professional, and Gagan, a BJMC student, who helped us like anything. I am grateful to them from the core of my heart.

In Amritsar, Rajpal visited the Golden Temple, performed prayers and returned to Mumbai the next morning. My friend, Anjit Bhatnagar, a budding film maker, and my daughter Khushboo, a fitness freak, traveled with me for the film promotion. It was a memorable day with Mr Rajpal. -- Narvijay Yadav

Specttrum News: Rajpal Yadav, Bollywood’s ace comedian and actor turned director with his movie ‘Ata Pata Laapta’. Other than being one of the lead actor and director, he also produced this film. The movie was released on 2 November, 2012. ‘Ata Pata Laapta’ was also seen as the last movie of veteran actor and world renowned wrestler Dara Singh.
Addressing the media, Rajpal Yadav said, “Ata Pata Laapata is an exciting musical satire based on the loopholes and exploited systems of life. Be it the governance, the bureaucratic systems, or the unspoken pattern in which a society runs, the film exposes the selfish attitude of people in power; those who have it and those who want it through.”
The actor further added, “Ata Pata Laapata stars Ashutosh Rana, Asrani, Vijay Raaz, Yashpal Sharma, Govind Namdev and late Dara Singh besides me. Through songs and dance, ‘Ata Pata Laapata’ brings you truth with entertainment.”
Rajpal Yadav, who primarily made a place as a comic actor, tried to break away from it with the films such as ‘Main, Meri Patni aur Woh’ and ‘Main Madhuri DixitBanna Chahti Hoon’.
“I feel these films triggered the wave of off-beat cinema, which are categorised neither as art nor commercial. People liked them and then there were many more such as ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’, ‘Welcome To Sajjanpur’, ‘Bheja Fry’, and ‘Tere Bin Laden’. These became a pattern of good cinema.” He added.
